The Bible may be accurate (but to me is accurate) in that it pictures the theory of evolution perfectly, except that it is more refined.
Man was created on the same day as animals were created; the only difference is animals were created (i.e. came into being) after their own kind whilst man was created after God’s kind (image and likeness).
What it means is, humans may have a relation with animals (may have evolved from them) as the theory of evolution proposes but then are much better than animals, as the Bible captures it.
In other words, God intended this world for human beings and not animals. It is not really survival of the fittest but the will of God.
